Alfa Romeo enter their first modern Formula 1 season as a race team with the Alfa Romeo C38. Prior to 2019 Sauber F1 Team was the constructor's name, and Sauber's heritage continues with the car name following on from 2018's C37.
The team completed a shakedown on Valentine's Day ahead of the car's formal launch, and to mark the occasion the car ran in a one-off livery featuring a pattern of hearts and the Quadrifoglio symbol displayed on Alfa Romeo sports cars.
